Gruda Winery
The Gruda Winery was a technologically up-to-date establishment when founded back in 1963 with a capacity of 250 wagons.
1970.
Raising vineyards
Some 157 hectares of net vineyards have been raised in the Konavle Valley by the end of the 1960s.
1995.
Vineyard revival
After being devastated and burnt, just like the rest of the area, in the Homeland War in 1990s, the company found the strength to revitalize and revive the destroyed vineyards.
2002.
Modern Technology
As a part of Gruda Winery, state of the art technology for stabilization, filtering and bottling (2000 bottles per hour) is being implemented.
2004.
First plantations of sort Plavac Mali
The first crops of the variety Plavac Mali were planted on the slopes of the mountain above Cavtat.
2004.
Merlot variety is being harvested
Merlotina has been produced by selection of the finest oak barrels in which it has been nurtured.
2005.
Creating Trajectum and Parc
Trajectum and Parac have been created from the first harvest of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
2006.
Plavac Mali first harvesting
The very first harvest of Plavac Mali. Plausus has been created from these grapes.
2011.
Malvasija Dubrovačka first series
The very first Malvasija Dubrovačka was bottled.

Dubrovnik cellars are intensively working on increasing and encouraging the quality standards, as well as planting new vinyards, some of their own, and some in cooperation with the contractors .

A long tradition that began in 1877.
Dubrovnik cellars Ltd. is the leading wine producer of Konavle vineyards by the range and quality of production, with a long tradition, which began in 1877 when the company Cellar, widely recognized in the world of wines, was founded by Pero Kolić. The Gruda Winery was a technologically up-to-date establishment when founded back in 1963 with a capacity of 250 wagons; re- modernized and refurbished on several occasions, it has reached its present capacity of 750 wagons. Some 157 hectares of net vineyards have been raised in the Konavle Valley. After being devastated and burnt, just like the rest of the area, in the Homeland War in 1990s, the company found the strength to revitalize and revive the destroyed vineyards, and in 2002, as a part of Gruda Winery, state of the art technology for stabilization, filtering and bottling (2000 bottles per hour) is being implemented.
By the oldest legends about the origins of the city, it was Saint Blaise to raise Dubrovnik on his almighty hands in order to bring it closer up to heavens and to the Lord.
In that tremendous endeavor, saint Blaise was helped by the sea which flooded the stone foundations making the city sail first as a gigantic karaka (Dubrovnik-built type of wooden ship) and then, as if carried by a breeze, the city rose up and spread over the palms of its patron saint. Angelic music thundered from the universe, the sun set the horizon on fire, from the coasts and hills, as stone and white as are city walls of Dubrovnik, from the vineyards, which, they say, have always descended towards the sea, wine started flowing, red and purple, like the mantle of St. Blaise, golden and shiny as his mitre and embroidered Dalmatian. As the legend goes on, from that moment on, the patron saint carries the city through the heavenly endlessness, without any toil or effort, as he is constantly invigorated by the Dubrovnik wine from Konavle, and the strong and gentle wine aroma, endearing the small Republic, up among the stars. Dubrovnik cellars’ wine PARAC (patron saint) is made in St. Blaise’s honour.
